About Melbourne Psychology Counselling
Melbourne Psychology & Counselling was founded in 2016 by Dr Claire Ahern and Dr Christine Raab.
Our aim was to provide our local community with high quality psychological therapy and to attract like minded psychologists to build a service focused on accessibility, valuing diversity, and high ethical and clinical standards.
We also provide mentoring and training to psychologists that are new to private practice to ensure that our community is supported by a terrific group of clinicians.
Our team prides itself on being warm, approachable, and genuinely interested in our clients' experiences. We also value ongoing skills development and support learning through team professional development and supervision.
The psychologists at Melbourne Psychology & Counselling have a wide range of experience with a number of different client populations (young children through to older adults), therapy formats (individual, group), client problems (therapeutic counseling, interpersonal problems, life transitions, mild to severe psychiatric disorders) and therapeutic modalities (e.g, CBT, mindfulness, schema-therapy, DBT, EMDR).
Research findings suggest that the foundation of successful therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. With this in mind, our intake team provides an obligation free phone conversation and assessment for every client in order to ensure that we match you with the right psychologist.
To hold ourselves to account we undertake research on the outcomes of our work. We are proud our outcomes and confident that our clients benefit from seeing a psychologist at MPC.
