About Andrea

Andrea Schwede is a Clinical Psychologist with more than 20 years of experience working across public and private mental health services in Australia and the United Kingdom. Throughout her career, she has supported adults experiencing a broad range of psychological difficulties, including anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma- related concerns, depression, adjustment difficulties, and complex mental health presentations.

Alongside her general adult practice, Andrea has a particular interest and additional training in women’s mental health and the psychological challenges associated with conception, pregnancy, birth, and the transition to parenthood.

Andrea aims to provide a warm, genuine, and collaborative therapeutic environment where people feel comfortable, understood, and respected. She draws on evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), tailoring therapy to each person’s unique circumstances, strengths, and goals.

Andrea believes that while our experiences shape us, they do not have to define our future. Therapy can provide an opportunity to better understand ourselves, develop practical skills, and make meaningful changes that support a richer and more fulfilling life. Andrea provides evidence-based psychological therapy exclusively via Telehealth, supporting adults across Australia.

  • Trauma-related difficulties, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD)
