Clinical Psychologist/Psychologist/Registrar
Practice Management and Reception (WFH & On-site)
Practice Manager wanted for friendly psychology practice in Melbourne’s North.
25 hours per week (M-F or M-Th; permanent part-time role; WFH/Onsite/Flexible/Job Share will be considered)

Melbourne Psychology & Counselling (MPC) is an established private practice located in Coburg. MPC is home to 18 psychologists who provide psychological treatment and counselling for children, adolescents and adults. This work is supported by our fantastic admin and intake team. MPC prides itself on providing high quality psychological treatment and an exceptional intake process for new patients.
We are currently looking for a warm, reliable and mature manager to lead our admin/intake team. You will be responsible for completing administrative tasks, communicating with and assisting our patients, referrers and psychologists, consultation with our external reception service, and overseeing the intake process for the clinic. You will be working closely with the two Directors of MPC, the reception and the intake team who conduct triage interviews with new clients.
This role is ideally suited to a person who has excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, and the proven ability to show initiative in working independently and as part of a team. Experience with risk screening/assessment/triage is an advantage but not essential. The right candidate will have a professional approach to their work, attention to detail and an interest in ongoing learning. We provide extensive (paid) on the job training and induction as well as ongoing hands-on supervision.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential:

High level administrative skills
-
demonstrated ability to recognise the need for improvements in office systems (manual and/or electronic), to devise practical solutions and to implement agreed system enhancements or new procedures

appropriate experience in office administration including telephone and in-person reception, file and records management, maintaining office equipment, and providing administrative support to staff
-
Excellent proficiency in use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Gmail Suite (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs).

Excellent ability to follow established procedures, and ability to provide suggestions for reviewing procedures where required.

Capacity to work from home (private room, fast internet, computer) and work on-site at the Clinic (Moreland Rd, Coburg).

Ability to work within the hours noted in position description (some flexibility available).
Desirable:

Demonstrated experience working in administrative/practice management/reception roles within a similar environment (psychology/health/services).

Familiarity with the Medicare system and private practice psychology services.

Familiarity with PracSuite management software, or proven ability to master new IT platforms.

Proven ability to triage new clients (including risk screening) to determine suitability for private practice, treatment needs, and assist clients to access appropriate services.

Experience or training in counselling, social work, psychology or mental health, and experience interacting with clients.

You will need a Working With Children Check and an offer of employment will also be subject to the completion of a National Police Check.
