About Yingying

Yingying is a registered psychologist with dual qualifications in Psychology and Occupational Therapy (non-practising). Her professional journey has been shaped by a strong belief in the transformative impact of feeling understood, supported, and meaningfully connected in therapy.

Yingying has extensive experience working across both public and private mental health settings, supporting adults experiencing moderate to severe and persistent mental health difficulties in inpatient, community, and outpatient contexts. This background has provided her with a strong foundation in working with complex presentations, including mood disorders, anxiety, trauma-related difficulties, and significant life transitions.

Yingying works primarily with adults and has a particular interest in affective disorders, anxiety, trauma, and the psychological challenges associated with migration, cultural identity, and major life adjustments. She has a special interest in supporting individuals navigating periods of transition, high stress, or identity change, including professionals, parents, and those adjusting to new life roles or environments. Her therapeutic approach is relational and attachment-informed, and is tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals. She draws from a  range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Schema Therapy, and is also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR Level 1).

Yingying is proudly bilingual in Mandarin and English and welcomes clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

She aims to provide a collaborative and compassionate therapeutic space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, develop insight, and build practical strategies to support meaningful and lasting change.
